First Day – Wednesday 30th August, 2023

 

You will be permitted to enter the school gates from 8.55 a.m.

School ends 3.20 p.m.

 

A parent or guardian will be responsible for your transport to and from school, as there will be no buses running today.

 

Your first day at Lurgan Junior High School is very special: only Year 8 pupils will be in school.  This enables you to become familiar with your new surroundings, your Form Teacher and your timetable.

 

When you arrive at school, teachers will show you where to go.

 

DO NOT WORRY

 

On your first day, you will spend some time in your Form Room with your Form Teacher.

 

While you are with your Form Teacher in your Form Room, you will:

 

• Have registration;

• Meet the rest of your Form class;

• Be given your new timetable;

• Tour the school and find out where your subject teachers are;

• Be shown the canteen;

• Have a chance to ask questions and discuss how your day has gone;

Second Day – Thursday 31st August, 2023

 

You will be permitted to enter the school gates from 8.55 a.m.

School ends 3.20 p.m. 

 

School Photograph will be taken today. 

 

In addition to this you will spend lots of time learning about our procedures, routines and understanding the importance of time in Lurgan JHS.

 

You will also find out about the many reward you can gain through hard work in subjects and through participation through extra-curricular activities.

 

You will also find out important information about our pastoral and behaviour systems.

 

You will attend more of your timetabled subjects today.
