What Is Involved?

LJHS Scripture Union meets on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:20pm in Miss Hanna’s room. It is part of the Scripture Union NI organisation. As its name suggests, Scripture Union is a Christian after-school club, based on the teaching of the Bible and encouraging pupils to learn more about and follow Jesus Christ.

Scripture Union at LJHS is open to all pupils, whether from a Christian background or not. As well as being led by staff and older pupils, we have a range of visiting speakers, from local church youth groups, NI-wide Christian groups (such as Crown Jesus Ministries) and missionary organisations.

We are also delighted to welcome local church youth workers in to school to run Lunch Time Bible Studies during the week. SU pupils have also been responsible, on occasion, for speaking in school daily Assemblies and leading Harvest and Easter Assemblies.
