Dear Parent / Guardian,
I appreciate that parents and pupils are keen to know the revised arrangements for this year’s transfer procedure.
We have been giving in-depth consideration to the revised process for our current Year 10 pupils, in light of the unforeseen circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A letter detailing the rationale for the decision taken and any further procedures that you, as a parent, need to be aware of has been posted to all Year 10 homes.
The decision regarding the revised procedures is as follows:
Examination Series: Year 9 Summer examinations and Year 10 Christmas examinations
Revised Weighting: Scores for both sets of examinations are to be added and an average taken. As in all sets of reports, English, Maths and Science are double-weighted.
Over the coming days, you will receive your child’s school report and information in relation to their position in the overall rank order.
We hope that the letter you will receive will explain the rationale for our decision and answer any queries that you may have.
