Addressing Bullying Type Behaviour

At Lurgan Junior High School, we consistently hold high expectations for all our pupils, particularly regarding their demonstration of the "3Rs": Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience, in all aspects of school life. We expect every pupil to show respect towards staff, fellow pupils, and visitors to our school.

We take conduct very seriously, whether in person, within the school grounds, during their commute, or online. We instruct our pupils to apply the "THINK" filter before saying or typing anything: Is it True? Is it Helpful? Is it Inspiring? Is it Necessary? Is it Kind?

We are committed to addressing any allegations of bullying-type behaviour with the utmost seriousness, having received extensive training from the EA’s ABSIT (Addressing Bullying Schools Implementation Team). We foster open dialogue and close collaboration among the school, pupils, and parent/guardians.

When situations arise, we believe it is crucial for pupils and parents to be well-informed about what constitutes bullying-type behaviour. Our aim is to ensure pupils take responsibility for their actions through restorative practices, always prioritising safeguarding in any support measures we implement.
